What is a neodymium iron boron permanent magnet?
Neodymium iron boron permanent magnets are also called hard neodymium iron boron magnets, and magnets that can maintain magnetism for a long time are called permanent magnets. Such as natural magnets (magnetite) and artificial magnets (aluminium nickel cobalt alloy). In addition to permanent magnets, there are electromagnets that need to be energized to be magnetic. The neodymium iron boron permanent magnet is not easy to lose magnetism and be magnetized.
Steel or other materials can become neodymium iron boron permanent magnets, because their unevenness is in the best state, and after proper treatment and processing, the coercive force is the largest. Iron has very small inhomogeneities in crystal structure and internal stress, and its coercive force is naturally very small. It does not need a strong magnetic field to magnetize or demagnetize it, so it cannot be a neodymium iron boron permanent magnet.
Materials that are easily magnetized and demagnetized are often referred to as "soft" magnetic materials. "Soft" magnetic materials cannot be used as neodymium iron boron permanent magnets, iron belongs to this type of material.
